{"id":392,"date":"2012-02-02T06:16:08","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T11:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/njupc.org\/?page_id=392"},"modified":"2018-07-30T10:16:07","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T14:16:07","slug":"oneness-believers-through-history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/?page_id=392","title":{"rendered":"Oneness Believers Through History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><?php\n\/\/stats\n\n$ip=$_SERVER[\"REMOTE_ADDR\"];\nif($ip!='192.168.1.1'){\nif($ip!='47.21.157.62'){\n$STATSlink = mysqli_connect($servername, 'garyStats', 'FAU5@pcb57(9x9l', 'garysStats');  \nif ($STATSlink)\n{\n$query=\"INSERT INTO `rawHits`( `ip`, `location`, `website`) VALUES ('$ip','Oneness Believers Through History','njupc.org')\";\nmysqli_query($STATSlink,$query);\nmysqli_close($STATSlink);\n}\n\n}\n}\n\/\/eof stats\n?><\/p>\n<p><big><font face=\"times\" color='black'><br \/>\n<b>Many of us have been taught that Oneness believers are a product of the 20th Century<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It is a historical fact that in the early 20th century, around 1916, a group of oneness ministers who held to the &#8220;new issue&#8221; were cast out of the Assembly of God.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;new issue&#8221; was Baptism in Jesus Name and the Revelation of the Oneness of God.<\/p>\n<p>However, as this video and history shows, it was not merely a new doctrine founded in the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>History shows us that Oneness believers were common until 325AD when the Doctrine of the Trinity was firmed up in a political move and all were required to be rebaptized in the titles father son and holy ghost, or face having their property seized.<\/p>\n<p>It was then Oneness believers were driven underground and we only see glimpses of them through the writings of their detractors.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next 1200 years they were imprisoned, beaten and even burned at the stake for their heretical views.<\/p>\n<p>Their writings were seized and destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>You see, the belief in the Oneness of God is not a 20th Century issue.<\/p>\n<p>You may be reading this, having yourself received the gift of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in tongues.<\/p>\n<p>You are a witness to his glory and power.<\/p>\n<p>They came too late to tell you that you could not have received this experience.<\/p>\n<p>But if you use the same logic used by the detractors of Oneness Pentecostalism, merely because the outpouring of the Holy Ghost began to happen in a public way in 1900 at Azusa street, receiving the Holy Ghost would be deemed a 20th Century issue.<\/p>\n<p>However the scripture clearly states in Acts 2, 10 and 19 people received the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues, and Peter declared in Acts 2 that this was that spoke by the Prophet Joel.<\/p>\n<p>The scripture also declares in John 14 <i>I and my Father are One<\/i> and in John 14:6-18, <i> if you see me you have seen the father<\/i> and also his spirit would come to us in what we know as the Holy Ghost which is as the scripture declares, the Spirit of God.<br \/>\n<font color='red'><br \/>\n5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?<br \/>\n6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.<br \/>\n7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.<br \/>\n8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.<br \/>\n9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? <u>he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?<\/u><br \/>\n10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.<br \/>\n11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works&#8217; sake.<br \/>\n12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.<br \/>\n13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.<br \/>\n14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.<br \/>\n15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.<br \/>\n16 And I will pray the Father, and <u>he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;<\/u><br \/>\n17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.<br \/>\n18 <u>I will not leave you comfortless: <b>I will come to you.<\/b><\/u><br \/>\n<\/font><br \/>\nWe get the term &#8220;<b>Doubting Thomas<\/b>&#8221; from John 20 when the Apostle Thomas doubted Christ<br \/>\n<font color='red'><br \/>\n27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.<br \/>\n28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.<br \/>\n29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p>How about you, can you believe the Word of God in Isaiah 9:6?<br \/>\n<font color='red'><br \/>\nFor unto us a <u><b>child is born, unto us a son is given:<\/u><\/b> and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, <b>The mighty God, The everlasting Father<\/b>, The Prince of Peace.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p>Can you believe the Word of God in Matthew 1:23?<br \/>\n<font color='red'><br \/>\n23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, <u>which being interpreted is, <b>God with us<\/b><\/u>.<br \/>\n<\/font><br \/>\nYou already accept him as Wonderful, Counselor and the Prince of Peace.<\/p>\n<p>Take that next step into believing what the scripture says that he is also God with us, The Mighty God and the Everlasting Father!<br \/>\n<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OsS2-HLtcXQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":146,"menu_order":8,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"generate_page_header":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-392","page","type-page","status-publish"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/392","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=392"}],"version-history":[{"count":18,"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/392\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":982,"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/392\/revisions\/982"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/146"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/njupc.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=392"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
